The Gap

Growing businesses make million-dollar decisions without a CFO in the room.

A bookkeeper records what happened. A controller reports it. A CFO helps you decide — what to hire for, whether to take that loan, how to structure the ownership change, whether the acquisition math actually works. That gap between financial reporting and financial leadership is where expensive mistakes happen.

The Fix

A CFO in the room — without the full-time cost.

Brett Slade, CPA brings the full weight of CFO-level experience — not part-time consulting from the sidelines. He currently serves as Co-Founder and CFO of Dizze, an early-stage CPG company. That's the perspective he brings to every client engagement.

Established Businesses

$1M–$20M revenue. Too big to fly blind.

You've built something real. But the financial decisions keep getting bigger — hiring, capital equipment, lender relationships, ownership changes — and you're making them without a CFO in the room. That gap is expensive.

Early-Stage Companies

Fundraising prep and cash clarity — from a CFO who's actually done it.

Brett isn't advising startups from theory. He is currently the CFO of an early-stage company managing cash burn, inventory financing, and investor relationships. That's the perspective he brings to your fundraise.

What Makes This Different

Brett Isn't a Retired CFO Consulting on the Side.

He is currently the Co-Founder and CFO of Dizze, an early-stage CPG company — actively managing cash burn, inventory financing, and multi-channel revenue right now. That hands-on operating experience is not something you can manufacture. It's what he brings to every advisory client.

Before that, Brett co-founded and directed ERC Pros, a high-volume ERC compliance operation — giving him direct experience with the filings, the compliance questions, and the IRS scrutiny that thousands of business owners are now navigating. Add CPA credentials, an M.S. in Accounting from UNLV, and time at Eide Bailly, and you have an advisor who has seen the full spectrum of business finance.

Pricing

What Does a Fractional CFO Cost?

We believe in transparency. Here's how engagements are typically structured and priced.

What does a fractional CFO typically cost?

Fractional CFO engagements generally range from $2,500–$8,000/month depending on scope, hours, and complexity. A 10-hour/month advisory arrangement looks very different from a 30-hour/month operational CFO role. We scope every engagement individually — there's no one-size pricing.

What drives the cost up or down?

Scope, frequency of involvement, complexity of your financials, whether you have existing accounting staff, and whether there are active transactions (fundraising, M&A). A clean business with a solid bookkeeper needs less CFO time than a fast-growing company mid-raise.

Is this a monthly retainer or project-based?

Both models are available. Ongoing fractional CFO work is typically a monthly retainer. CFO Advisory and modeling projects are scoped and billed by project. Many clients start with a project and move to a retainer.

Is there a minimum commitment?

Retainer engagements typically start with a 3-month minimum — enough time to actually move the needle. Project work is scoped individually.
